Refund requests must be submitted in writing. A $75 USD processing fee will be charged for cancellations received on or before 1 July 2025. Refunds are processed after the meeting. No refunds are granted if cancellation is received on or after 1 July 2025. Special considerations will be given for health or family emergencies if requested in writing no later than 15 days after the last day of the meeting.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Passport Requirements <\/strong><\/p>

Travelers visiting Budapest, Hungary, must ensure that their passports are valid for at least three months beyond their planned departure date from the Schengen Area. The passport should be in good condition and have at least two blank pages available for visa stamps if required. Travelers are encouraged to check their passport validity well in advance of travel to avoid any last-minute complications.<\/p>

Visa Requirements<\/strong><\/p>

Budapest, as part of Hungary and the Schengen Area, has varying visa requirements based on travelers’ nationalities. Citizens of EU\/EEA and Schengen member countries can enter Hungary without a visa and may use a valid national ID card instead of a passport. Nationals of countries with visa-free agreements, including the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia, can visit Hungary for up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism or business purposes. From 2024, travelers from these visa-exempt countries will need to apply for an ETIAS authorization before their visit. Travelers from countries not on the visa-exempt list are required to apply for a Schengen Visa before travel, providing documentation such as a valid passport, application form, travel insurance, proof of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient financial means.<\/p>

In addition to a valid passport and, where applicable, a visa, travelers to Budapest may be required to have travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and repatriation with a minimum coverage of \u20ac30,000. Proof of accommodation, such as a hotel booking or an invitation letter from a host, is often requested at border control. Additionally, travelers may need to present a return or onward ticket to confirm their departure plans within the permitted timeframe. Ensuring all required documents are in order can facilitate a smoother entry process.<\/p>

The letter of invitation does not financially obligate the MEMC Congress organizers in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the meeting are the sole responsibility of the attendee. Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will receive a visa. The decision to grant visas is at the sole discretion of the embassy\/consulate. The meeting organizers cannot change the decision of the governmental agency should your application be denied.
