MEDITERRANEAN ACADEMY OF EMERGENY MEDICINE<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0Mediterranean Academy of Emergency Medicine (MAEM)<\/a>\u00a0was established in 2014 for the purpose of promoting, securing and protecting excellence and integrity of emergency medicine (EM) in the Mediterranean region. Its mission encompasses the practice and management of emergency medicine (EM) as well its education, training and research.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

MAEM is currently incorporated through AAEM as an international regional chapter of AAEM. This multinational chapter has already established itself in the Mediterranean basin through its planning and execution of educational activities such as congresses, national conferences and seminars, multinational leadership meetings, the development of an open access web-based peer-reviewed medical journal (the Mediterranean Journal of EM and Acute Care – MedJEM). It played a key role in the establishment of EM as a specialty in Lebanon and the region, including supporting the development of more than 6 categorical EM residency programs and 3 EM-subspecialty fellowships. Over the next three to five years, MAEM will be incorporating itself as a Federation of national societies and organizations and will be selecting its base in a country around the \u201cBig Blue.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

MAEM defines the Mediterranean region as any country or region contiguous with the Mediterranean Sea (\u201cthe Big Blue\u201d). This includes all Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and countries around the Black, Adriatic and Aegean Seas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

American Academy of Emergency Medicine (aaem)<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit democratic organization of 8,000 members. The Academy supports the establishment and recognition of EM internationally as an independent specialty and is committed to its role in the advancement of the specialty worldwide.<\/p>

AAEM has been co-sponsoring international meetings for many years promoting the specialty of EM and offering a wonderful opportunity for academic and scientific exchange. AAEM is also partnering internationally to offer academic and scientific exchange across the world. MEMC25 will be the XIIIth<\/sup>\u00a0Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Congress, an international conference which is held every other year. In past years, AAEM has worked with the Sociedad Argentina de Emergencias (SAE) in offering a jointly sponsored biennial meeting of the Inter-American Emergency Medicine Congress (IAEMC) and the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine (KSEM) to hold the first Pan-Pacific Emergency Medicine Congress (PEMC) in Seoul, South Korea. AAEM also worked with the Department of Emergency Medicine at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center-Jeddah (KFSHRC-J) and Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) to jointly sponsor the 3rd International Red Sea Emergency Medicine Conference (RSEM20).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

With\u00a0its 255\u00a0years of tradition,\u00a0Semmelweis University<\/a> is the leading higher education institution in Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region, as well as\u00a0the largest medical and health sciences institute in the European Union.\u00a0<\/p>

The university offers academic programs in three languages, English, German, and Hungarian. A third of its almost 16,000 students come from 129 countries, making Semmelweis one of the most international universities in the world.<\/p>

Semmelweis University is\u00a0a\u00a0top performer in international rankings. It\u00a0is\u00a0271st in Times Higher Education\u2019s 2025 World University Rankings, up 28 places from the previous year. In ShanghaiRanking\u2019s 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, the institution is in the top 100 in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and remains in the top 200 in Clinical Medicine. Semmelweis University\u00a0is listed in 31st position in Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems in the U.S. News 2024-2025 Best Global Universities Rankings.<\/p>

In the 2024\/25 academic year, the university introduced\u00a0its\u00a0Curriculum 2.0, which offers an even more practice-oriented education. This improved curriculum ensures that studentsreceive\u00a0high-level theoretical knowledge and hands-on training.\u00a0<\/p>
